I saw Chrys fold away into the thick shadows of the alley. On tiptoes I followed him. His perfect face was deep in thought, which is probably why he didn't notice me overtake him. I ran ahead, and hid behind a bin, barely stifling a giggle. Thoughts turned to the orphanage, where I had grown up before I met Chrys. Dull, boring, monotonous. I was so much better of now, even if it was dangerous. I needed to think of a way to get his attention. I nearly missed him because I was too busy thinking. On the spur of the moment I whispered the first thing that came into my head.
"Psst, why did the chicken cross the road?"
I was quite proud of that one. I definitely got his attention.
"Alicya! What in FUCK's name are you doing here?!" He said, all to loudly.
"Shush, and you know I don't like swear words."
