Cliché #3 "I really didn't want this to happen! Believe me I'm not like them anymore!" "how could you! I thought you loved me! I thought you were better than them!"

Notes: okay- this pisses me off so much. Sure you can get mad at them for being a spy all you'd like but the whole 'you should have told me' is ridiculous. They obviously didn't trust them before or they wouldn't be spying and they obviously had a change of heart or they would STILL be spying.

"I love you." That was all the warning before Almira's bed was empty. She sat up; confused, worried, hesitantly angry, scared. Why would he just...? She slipped out from under the covers and slipped on some easy to move in clothes. Something was going on. Something she needed to know about She stole down to the thrown room- the first place she had met Lee- and found herself unsurprised that he was there once more. He froze as he heard her whispering footsteps but otherwise didn't move. "-es. I'm sure Ferri, now get out before you're caught." Paper flashed on the moonlight falling through the windows and the second presence disappeared. Almira took a step forward. "I know those documents." "I'm not surprised. You helped your father write them." He replied evenly but she would be a fool not to notice his tenseness. "So that's it? You 'love' me or my position?" Lee- was that even his real name?- turn with a frown. "My love for you was never faked." "Just the excuses for your midnight excursions." She replied calmly but they could both see she was close to cracking from the shock and betrayal. Lee opened his mouth then sighed, "Why can't we talk about this in your room?" "Because I don't know if I can trust you in there. Here if I scream someone will hear me." Hurt flashed in his eyes briefly before it was ruthlessly pushed away. "Fine but let me explain." "I haven't screamed yet." Lee winced. "Touché. Okay look, I was stupid. I wanted to be in the palace abs the only requirement was that I bring in occasional information." He shook his head, "The only twist in the plan was this ridiculously persistent princess who wouldn't let me blend into the background." He shot a glance at Almira, looking put out when she didn't even look a little amused. "Then imagine my surprise when it turns out I've fallen in love with her. Everything I've done so far would be revealed and she'd hate me if I didn't stop. I'd be sent away from her." "And if you didn't she'd kill you." Almira growled to herself. Lee was relieved that she was sounding less angry though. "Yeah, I get it." She sighed and turned away. He took a step forward and when she didn't say anything he walked up to her. "I really do still lo-" A fist collided with his face and he staggered. He looked up, holding his jaw and saw her frowning, "I deserved that." Almira snorted, "At the very least." Lee brightened at her tone. "So... Lee the shadow again even if I can't be Lee bedwarmer?" Almira rolled her eyes and walked away, leaving him without an answer.
