I didn't understand You were very plain Not ornate not grand
You came all the way from St Petersburg On a cruise liner Via Johannesburg
Round the world You travelled far To hang on my tree Under the star
Who would have known A little Russian ornament Would be the start Of a yearly sentiment
Now when I travel We always have to find An unusual little trinket With a Christmas design
So now my Little Russian friend You have been adored And been round the world again
My son Now hangs you up On Christmas Eve Next to the Dalmatian pup Named Steve
One day I hope I'll see His children Laughing merrily
As they put you My little Russian friend On their Christmas tree All over again
