When I run I feel I could fly Just take off and reach for the sky
The beat of my heart drives me on faster My rhythm and stride I must master
Running for miles watching scenery pass Fields of rapeseed with poppies sparse
Running up hills and across chalk downs Nothing compares to the beauty around
With music in my ears to spur me on I could run for miles from dusk til dawn
Hot sun in my legs, cold wind in my hair Rain in my face, snow in the air
No matter the weather I'll always be out That feeling of flying is what it's all about
And when I race and raise money for you Fifteen miles in, the pain I run through
It's nothing compared to your suffering you had to endure It's the least I can do until they find a cure
X
Dedicated to a beautiful sister in law I'll think of you always RIP
