There were many who knocked on my door On that fateful Halloween night Werewolves, vampires, witches But it was the zombies who gave me a fright
Trick or treat? trick or treat? I never got a moments rest No sooner had I sat down Then I was put to the test
Eventually at ten past eight The bucket of sweets had ran out So I put a sign on the door saying 'Sorry no sweets', and blew the pumpkin out
But it could only have been ten minutes Then there was another knock on the door I thought for goodness sake! can't they read! And made my way across the floor
I opened up the door, But there was no one out there I even looked behind the bush There was only old cobwebs and fresh night air
I shrugged my shoulders and tutted And made my way back inside the house But again a few minutes later There was a knock but this time it was as quiet as a mouse
So once I again I got up And made my way to the door I opened it up and looked around Only to find a little black spider on the floor
Surely it wasn't the spider Who knocked upon my door But I couldn't get rid of this thought It was an avenue I had to explore
So I crouched down beside him And looked at his little face He seemed so awfully sad So I invited him in to my place
So over my threshold he went And crawled over to the settee That's when he spun up beside me So we sat and watched TV
It was ten o'clock when it happened That fateful Halloween night The little spider wasn't friendly anymore I turned and he gave me a fright
He had two enormous fangs And wings instead of his legs He bit viscously into my neck I'm sure I soiled my kecks
I felt the blood drain from me As he grinned from wing to wing The last thing he said to me was 'Thank you for inviting me in'
