"But wait! We've forgotten something important." Mary fairy exclaimed Hairy fairy baffled and bemused Scratched her twinkling head in vain

"Punctuation!" "Of course" Hairy Fairy cried "Without it our stories won't make sense" "No matter how hard we try."

So the two little, dazzling, twinkly fairies Continued on their big, massive, story telling quest To find punctuation So their tales would be the best.

They knew where to go and what risk they would take To the cave of punctuation Protected by Sid the slithering, slimy, snake

It was the dead of night Stars twinkled, shone, dazzled in the moonlight sky They waited for hours For Sid the slimy to slither by

At last at a quarter past two In the witching hour He slithered by Looking, searching for food to devour

So Hairy and Mary crept in to the dark, mysterious, coveted cave Hairy giggled Mary Fairy whispered "Behave."

As they went further into the deep, cavernous rock They hear the sound of a tick tick ticking clock Not only was there punctuation to be found But rhythm also beating out on the ground

Lit up like little punctuation stars in the shadowy dark Were commas, full stops, and question marks There were colons, apostrophes , and brackets too The fairies were so excited they didn't know what to do.

In the distance they could hear a faint sound The noise of Sid hissing and slithering on the ground So into their bag, all the punctuation did go And out of the cave on their tippy toes

So now they had swallowed the thesaurus Stolen from the giant named Boris Gathered as many describing words as they could From the magical, dazzling, lush adjective wood Now they had rhythm and punctuation too Surely that's plenty to be going on with, don't you?

*just in case you think I drink hallucinogenic tea in the morning. These little stories are forming part of a collection I'm writing to help my son with his literacy.

Also this is my 300th post! How did that happen.
