5 October 2012
Mária was bewildered, her eyes wide, still dazed and upset by what had just occurred.
"What did he mean? Gabriella, has he gone? Gabriella!"
Gabriella, momentarily confused, quietly nodded. "He is no longer with us. I am sorry."
Minutes passed. Thoughts were racing through Mária's mind. Oh how she wanted him. She wanted him here so badly.
"Shall we continue?" Anna interjected.
"Yes, of course." said Forgach. "Shall we turn to the order of the evening Gabriella?" Now he was looking at Michael.
Once again there was a hush, although Mária, was still overwhelmed with the events, she tightened her grip on Forgachs hand.
The candles still burned and the sweet smell of sage lingered in the air, together with another, that no one had noticed.
Alfréd gave a gentle reassuring nod and smile to his niece as she continued.
"Teodóra, I call upon thee again, enter me and let me guide you tonight. Let us help our brother Michael." She then closed her eyes.
The atmosphere once again altered. The temperature of the small library dropped by as little as a few degrees, but it was noticeable.
Gabriella began to make a strange humming sound followed by a gentle moan. Then, silence.
All eyes were fixed upon the young girl. Her head lolled slightly then her body relaxed in the chair, under the hypnotic trance.
It was then that Forgach spoke quietly but with purpose: "Gabriella, your spirit guide may now enter Michael. "
Everyone round the table flitted their eyes between Michael and Gabriella, apart from Füst. His stayed fixed upon Mária.
Gabriella again gave out a muffled moan. Her eyes closed, but the rapid movements under the lids could still be seen.
Michael, inhaled deeply, his body shuddered, but he smiled although his eyes were tired. Tired of trying.
Again Forgach spoke: "Gabriella, can you tell us what Teodóra sees?"
In a small but precise voice: "There is much pain. She sees it is very black, very dark."
The hopeful uneasiness could be felt by all who sat around the table.
"Go on." Forgach encouraged.
"The cells are irregular, inflamed. They are spreading, growing fast."
Anna's face fell. Everyone knew it was too late. They thought perhaps there was a chance.
"There is..." Gabriella paused.
"Gabriella, please continue." Forgach prompted.
Her eyes were now wide open, staring. Staring beyond the dim lit room, but not seeing.
Her mouth opened and a grotesque sound exhaled "She is now mine."
Immediately Forgach tightened his grip on the circle and commanded: "Your presence is not welcome here. Please move on. "
"She.......is........mine" repeated the unwelcome, unholy voice.
"Your presence is not welcome here!"
