The cries of tortured offspring,
As their mothers tremble,
Walls mirroring the mutual terror
But hiding their dark insides.
Eyes in flames, skin in fear of the light,
Tender now broken and scarred.
Ashamed we hide,
On the other side of their boundaries
Where only the desperate
Would ever dare to venture.
