I was walking towards Diana's room when Emily came bounding out. "Mummy." she cried in her soft, little voice. I bent down and scooped her up in my arms. "hello baby girl. Where's your daddy?" I asked. "Daddy with Aunt Didi" she said. "Do you want to go and play with Aunt Didi?" "Yes!" she squealed with delight and clapped her hands. "Right then, you cheeky monkey. Show me where they are." she wandered down the stairs and into the garden where Cameron and Diana were outside talking. I followed Emily out towards them. "Sorry to interrupt but emily wants to play with her Aunt Didi." I said looking knowingly at Diana. "Sure. How about I look after her until bedtime and you two can have some time off." "Thanks so much Di." I said. Emily and Diana went off in the direction of the treehouse. "So, an afternoon to ourselves. What shall we do?" Cam asked, putting his arms around my waist and pulling me close. "I don't know." I said slipping my arms around his neck, "You choose." He leaned down and kissed me gently. "Why don't we watch a movie?" he suggested, leading me inside towards the living room. He picked a film from the shelf, put it in the television and sat on the sofa. I picked up most of the cushions and traded them for the fluffy cushions that sat on the opposite chair. Cam put his arm around me and I snuggled up close. I took his hand and started fiddling with his ring. "careful with that. I really don't want to lose it." he said, smiling down at me. I leaned upwards and gave him soft kiss. He pulled me closer and started kissing my nose and then my cheeks. I let out a muffled giggle as i moved his lips back to mine. Suddenly he became quite serious. He pulled back slightly and stared deep into my eyes. "I love you so much. Do you know how much I love you? You are an amazing mum to Emily and a gorgeous, fantastic wife. You mean so much to me and I feel incredibly blessed that I get to love you for the rest of our lives." "i love you too." I whispered and I rested my head on his shoulder. I smiled and thought about how lucky i was. Cameron was an amazing dad and he was such a great husband. He was funny and kind and handsome. I had known him for years before we had even started going out and in all that time he was always kind and gentle, no matter what mood he was in. And emily. Oh my darling Emily. She has been our biggest blessing. With her curly blonde hair and soft features, she has mostly her fathers looks but my eyes. Her smile is full of life and happiness. I love my daughter and my husband more than I can describe.
