He may not always be thoughtful
He may not always be sweet
He may not always know what to say and when to say it
But when it counts most, he is there
Through thick and thin he stays by my side
He tries so hard to understand
And apologizes when he can't.

He may not always have presence of mind
And sometimes only half listens to what I say
But when it matters, He holds me close and cradles me in his arms
Because he never wants to see me hurt.

I am lucky enough to find a man to care this much for me
