I turn off the world I put my headphones on My heart is beating to my favorite song
The streetlights are glowing The city is alive Lights are flashing and fast cars drive
People glow in dark Their eyes illuminated Their smiles radiant
They wonder where I'm going And why I do not stop to enjoy the night It's tempting, but I know my purpose and my direction of flight
Tomorrow they'll regret their nightly disasters Their jobs will be gone And their faces white as plaster
Fools waste their lives They eye me with suspicion What they don't know is that I have ambition
So I continue on I pursue the dream Even when I'm weak and my life breaks at the seams
