Pug faced and beautiful, Staying a child, forever my child. Just short of a whole, you fill my void to overflowing. Oblivious to street stares And happy to dribble chocolate. Love giving love and Titan hugs forgiven. Termination, not an option And abhor an evil choice, So bear a contradiction to an Aryan search for cold perfection And love giving, love filled, love life YOU!
I wrote this after meeting a couple who had had a child with Down Syndrome. They were aware their baby would be born with Downs, but kept the pregnancy anyway. They were so obviously in love with their toddler I was moved to write this. Having previously worked with children who have Down's, I was very aware of how adorable they are and how rewarding spending time with them can be. I hope you enjoy..... e xx ....
