Like a blanket you come, welcome on a bitter night.

Cover me. Held within your gentle, light

Velvet sleep, ceaseless, delivering on

A drugged existence; slipping,

Falling into your cotton wool mouth,

Consumed and tasted like a black cherry.

I swap blood for air and an ethereal mode.

The candles lit in churches for for life

I see in this rush of whispers and breathless still,

Bright for a glimmer of remembrance,

Their resemblance is poor

And from this side I see mine....
