Like a blanket you come, welcome on a bitter night.
Cover me. Held within your gentle, light
Velvet sleep, ceaseless, delivering on
A drugged existence; slipping,
Falling into your cotton wool mouth,
Consumed and tasted like a black cherry.
I swap blood for air and an ethereal mode.
The candles lit in churches for for life
I see in this rush of whispers and breathless still,
Bright for a glimmer of remembrance,
Their resemblance is poor
And from this side I see mine....
Snuffed.
