I flutter my eyes open. What happened last night? Oh yeah, Cassie. I pat my pants and realize I'm still in my clothes. I guess I feel asleep when I got home. I check my phone and have twenty messages. All from Josh. Obviously. They all just say that he is sorry and that he wants to talk and such. I'm not in the mood after what happened yesterday. I'm too angry to talk to anyone. I knew I shouldn't have gone to his party. I get up and change into some clean clothes then slump downstairs. There are some blueberry muffins on the table so I grab two and go outside. I get onto my bike and then start to pedal. I just need to take a break from all this drama. I take a deep breath. Right when I leave the driveway, I hear my name. I turn to the side and see Josh. He waves and I wave back. He starts to run up to me. Oh great. This is going to be a long conversation.
"Hey. Um I'm sorry about yesterday. She didn't mean too."
"Yeah, right," I mutter.
Hopefully he didn't hear me.
"Anyways do you want to talk by the lake later tonight?"
"Sure, I guess."
I don't want to. I just want to be alone today. I'm stressed out. Cassie is such a jerk!
"Great!"
We are silent for a few seconds after that.
"So, are thoughts blueberry muffins?"
"Here, take one," I say laughing.
"Thanks!"
He unwraps it and starts to eat it. I do the same.
"So, where are you going?" he asks curiously.
"Just Around the town."
"Ahh."
"Well I better get going."
"Yeah. Bye. Be safe!"
I look up and he smiles and I smile back.
"I will," I say giggling. This conversation wasn't as long as I thought it would be. Josh actually cheered me up. He's like an older brother to me.
I start pedaling away. Here I go.
