After about six hours of driving, we pull up to a big white house that could really use some repairing. The paint was chipping and the grass was getting long. The gutters were also falling apart. I got out of the car and went to the back of it. I opened up the trunk and then I start to unload everything. I begin carry up my bags. When I step on the second step of the porch steps, a piece of rock chips off and I go falling into a bush. I scream. All my brother does is crack up and watch me struggle to get out of it. When I finally do get out, I go up to him and punch him in the arm. I storm inside and grab a change of clothes from my bag. I finally go to take a shower.
After my shower, everything from the car is unpacked and most of the furniture is in too. I go into the kitchen knowing that my mom should be in there. I was right. "I'm going to take a walk," I tell my mom. "Okay. Be back in time for lunch." "Kay." I put on my pink vans and go outside. There are seven surrounding houses. Ours must have been on the market for a while because all the houses look nice and new and outs looks old and ugly. I go into our backyard and see a little stream. In the back of it is the woods. I go down to it and jump over the stream. I walk around in the woods for a few minutes and then go to the way back of it and notice a bay. I walk down to it and sit on the dock. It's beautiful out here. After about five minutes a boy comes up. He has short, blond hair and has really pretty blue eyes. He's also tall and thin. "So you must one of the new neighbors," he says. "Yeah." "Well I'm Josh," he says as he puts his hand out for me to shake. "I'm Emma," I say as is shake his hand. "You live in the old white house. Right?" "Yup." "I live right next door," he say excitedly. He points to a big blue house. I nod He sits down next to me and we watch the water for a while. "I got to get going, my mom wants me home for lunch," I say. "Okay. See you later." I walk away and go over to my house. I think I'm going to like this place.....
