Chapter 24

"We will like two tickets to see The Dark Night Rising."
My heart beats fast. I'm so excited!
We wait for the woman to give us our tickets.
"That'll be twenty dollars."
Josh pulls out his wallet and takes out a credit card.
The woman takes it and looks at him suspiciously for a moment. She swipes the credit card and hands it back to him. He signs the screen thingy. She hands him two tickets. We walk over to the snack booth.
"What do you want?"
"Hmm. I don't know. Just order anything."
We step up to the counter and he orders.
"Can I have one large popcorn, one large Coke, a pack of junior mints, and a pack of sour patch kids please?"
"Sure thing."
The woman scoops up some popcorn and pours a large cup of Coke.
"Here."
She hands us the stuff and then grabs Junior Mints and Sour patch kids from under the counter.
She then places it on the table as she rings everything up.
"That'll be thirty seven dollars and eighteen cents."
Josh hands her his credit card.
She swipes if and gives it back to him. He signs the thingy again and grabs the stuff.
"Have a nice day," she says as she hands him the receipt.
He goes over to a small counter and grabs some napkins and two straws.
"Where are we going?" I ask.
"Umm. Theater nine I think."
We walk down the hall and look for theater nine.
"Here it is."
We walk up to it and go in.
"Front or back?"
"Back of course!" I exclaim.
We walk to the way back and take a seat. He sticks the drink in the drink holder and puts two straws in.
We watch the ads as we wait for the other people. They all show up few by few. Some even sit in different rows than us.
I look over and see two people wave at me. It takes me a second to realize that it's Ryan and Ashley. I get up and wave at them. They walk over and take a seat next to me.
"Hey!" Ashley whispers.
"Hey Ash."
We make small talk as we wait for the movie to start. Everything is going great until Cassie comes and ruins it all. Oh God why?! When she walks near me she mutters 'eww' under her breath.
She takes a seat next to Josh and gives me the evil eye. I will not be able to survive this whole movie with her here!
"Hey Ash, Can we go to the bathroom before the movie starts?"
I can tell that she knows why I want to leave. She immediately nods her head. We get up and leave. We walk down the hall an enter the girls room.
Right when get in, I cry.
"I hate Cassie! She's such a bitch!"
I cover my mouth right after I say that. I never curse, but seriously right now I can't help it. Ashley looks at me shocked.
"I never know that you cursed."
"No I don't. I'm sorry."
"Oh I curse, I just don't around you because I thought that you didn't like cursing and stuff like that."
"Oh, you can curse all you'll like around me."
We giggle.
I walk over to the mirror and turn on the sink. I splash some cold water on my face. I wipe it all off. We both leave the bathroom and go back to the theater. Right when I enter, I see Connor. How can this get any worse?
