Chapter 26

Their's a bit of cursing in this chapter, but its really good! i like it:) hope you do too!||

After everyone arrives the house is super crowded. A bunch more people came than planned. Josh even had to kick some out. There was only supposed to be like twenty seven people. Me and Josh both agreed to go outside to the lake. We try to be quiet about it because we don't want anyone following us. I follow Josh to the guest room and we sneak out the window. He jumps out and then helps me out. We run to the way back of the woods before we do any talking. When we get to the lake we start laughing. I take a seat on the edge of the dock and he does the same.
"I don't know how it got so crowded in my house! Sorry about that."
"It's okay. People probably just texted each other about it."
"Yeah. It's so loud in their. I hope nobody brought beer or anything because I the neighbors get mad and call the police because its too loud, I'll be in so much trouble!"
"Yeah. I hope that doesn't happen."
We both stare at the water, swinging our legs back in forth for a long time. OMG. I freeze when I hear a noise. I turn my head and see a shadow run across the stream. It comes a bit closer than disappears.
"Um. Josh? Can we please get going, like now?" I ask in a serious tone.
I want to get out of here because that shadow just kinda freaked me out.
"Yeah. Of course."
I get up and right when I do, something hits me hard in the stomach and I go flying into the freezing cold water. I scream as loud as I can. The shadow runs off into the woods.
"Holy crap!" Josh shouts.
He runs over and tries to pull me out. The water is like -10°! After a few minutes Cassie comes running over.
"OMG! Are you okayy??"
Of course I'm not you dumbass! I jut got pushed into the water by you! I know it was Cassie. Who else would do that to me? Josh finally pulls me out. I hop onto the dock and shiver.
"What happened?!" Cassie squeaks.
I roll my eyes. Of course she knows what happened! That little bitch is the one who did this. Right now I don't care if I curse. I'm just that mad.
"Emma fell into the water! I think she tripped or something!"
"That's terrible! Are you okay Emma?"
I just reply with a simple 'No'.
Stop trying to play all goody goody Cassie! You know exactly what happened!"
"Oh. Well you should go take a shower."
I fake smile at her. No shit Sherlock.
I get up and Josh helps me through the woods and over the stream. He walks me to my front door.
"After you take a shower come back to the party."
"Okay. See you there. Bye."
I go inside and shut the door behind me.
"What happened to you?" Luke asks from the kitchen.
"Long story."
I run upstairs and all I can think about is the fact that Cassie is out to ruin my life.
