Have you ever felt like you don't belong in your own family? Have you ever been ignored during the middle of a conversation? Have you ever felt like screaming your head off to just get noticed by your parents for something that isn't bad?
You see, my own parents are both working. I don't mind really. They are doing everything they can to provide for me and my brothers. It's just sad that whenever you need them, they just seem too busy.
I'm sick and tired of being treated like one of their business clients. Imagine. You're talking to them and when they hear something they don't like, they turn the other way and start a new conversation, leaving you speaking and looking like a retard.
Yeah, my parents are too busy to even notice that my older brother aced his finals. They're too busy to realise that my younger brother won the chess competition in his high school. They're too busy to actually notice that I'm on the dean's list. They're too busy to stop us from fighting. They're too busy to notice that we're sick. They're too busy that they just send their secretary to make an appointment with the doctor and they just leave you to go alone.
Honestly, I just sometimes wonder if they know how we feel. If they even care at all. They only notice something's wrong with us when it's the worst situation possible.
And my friends tell me that my family's perfect.
Are you kidding me? We only put up a front so that our parents' reputation won't get tarnished. How's that for perfect?
We're all just a busy family. Too busy to even feel like we're strangers living in the same house.
