Pumple Village is a small, quiet little village, settled on the outskirts of London. Peopl drive past it everyday, but never stop to visit, or even look, as if they can't see it. Of course, they can see it, but only if they really look. Otherwise, they just won't notice it. Mortals don't notice it that is, but the people of magic can. Sorcerers live in Pumple, magical sorcerers. There are many villages like Pumple around the world, villages that sorcerers populate. Elves and goblins and fairies, and creatures you've never even heard about live in Pumple. Snoogleys, Tarakums and Shlems live here. Pumple is a country of it's own; it has it's very own Princess to rule over the sorcerers living here. Lavender Axe is their Princess.

Lavender is very tall and slender, with coal black hair that reaches down to the top of her waist, perfect hazel nut eyes and the palest skin. Many people say she can enchant anyone she likes, due to her ravishing beauty. She is very stylish, as a Princess should be, and wears glamorous dresses that reach down to her ankles. Lavender's house is the biggest one in Pumple, but it is even bigger when you walk in. It's the size of a castle, with 8 bedrooms (all on suite, of course), three extra bathrooms, two kitchens and four sitting rooms. All 17 rooms, royall decorated to the Princesses taste.

On this particular day, Lavender was sitting in the plainest living room, watching TV. She considered this to be her 'normal' sitting room, as it was the one that didn't have anything royal or overly expensive in it. So if you walked into one of the other rooms, you would swear you were in a different house. She liked to relax here when she planned to sit in her old scruffy pyjamas all day; in the other rooms it would have felt like she should have been wearing a silk night gown, which she did own of course. While the flat screen blared out her favourite TV programme, the window next to it caught her eye. She looked over and stared at the beautiful scenery out of the window. It was a lovely day. The sun was shining onto the green grass and the flower beds were full of roses and flowers of various colours. Her gravel drive stretched down to the iron gate which let her in and out. Lavender just sat there for a moment; looking, forgetting what caught her eye. As she was scanning the beautiful countryside, she saw the ugly castle in the distance amd her peaceful smile turned into a sneer. The ugly castle housed her enemy; Shadow. Shadow had tries to kill her numerous times, but Lavender had always come out on top and Shadow had ended up with a few broken bones. Even though Shadow used his magic through fighting, Lavender had the upper hand because she had seen these moves before, and knew how to block them. Shadow would always come out every month with a plan to blow up the world, or something like that- she didn't really listen. She did have to admit though, Shadow had always almost succeeded, but Lavender and her team were better. However, Shadow hadn't come out with a master plan to destroy the world for a few months now, maybe he was retiring from his evil side. Lavender looked at the clock and it was almost 9, so she got up and headed into her bedroom where she would get dressed, because even if she wanted to, a Princess couldn't stay in her pyjamas all day.

Lavender walked into a bedroom which had no bed: this was the room that was specifically designed for her to get ready in, as it was full of clothes. She walked over to one of the sleek silk dresses and took it off it's hanger. She laid it neatly on the bench beneath the window and took a step back to admire the silk. The dress was of a baby blue, which clashed with her black hair. It nipped in at the waist and flowed down to her ankles. It had long sleeves that hugged her delicate arms very comfortably. Tiny sapphire gems were sewn around the v-neck. This was Lavenders favourite dress as she considered it the most comfy, going perfectly with her skin, and the most beautiful. She slipped her pyjamas off and folded them up neatly. She picked the dress up very gently with her thumb and finger, very careful not to leave any marks. Then she pulled it over her head, smelling the smell of comforter that comforted her as well. She smoothed it out with her hands and then walked over to the white pumps sitting on the floor, which she slipped on to her dainty feet. She picked up the pyjamas which lay folded on the floor and headed to the bathroom. When Lavender walked through the door, she suddenly felt very uneasy.
