Chapter 1 Annie
I run away from the hut, past the old quay, the run down old boat repair warehouse, net makers shop, the fishmongers where Finnick works. I run all the way down to the sea. Not the busy, polluted main land sea which runs around three sides of District 4. Well, it must be the same sea, but it's different in a way. My sea is clear green, and pure, tucked away in against the cliff sides and warehouses. This is our meeting place, on the sand.
Finnick
Annie's late. But not too late. She said she had an extra shift to do but it wasn't going too be too long. I should go and get her, knock on the battered and weathered driftwood door of the traders and ask the old man she works for if she can come on her break n- There's no need, because suddenly I can see her running towards me, arms outstretched, hair flying. I stand up and back out into the water just under knee deep as she crashes into me, knocking us both over into the salty spray. When we resurface, she starts laughing, a bright, bubbly sound that fills the air an I forget about the day's worried atmosphere and start to laugh too
