Grains Of Sand

Arianna watched closely, her blue eyes swallowing in the dark foreseen abyss. Unknown creatures lurked in there, a bramble-bush of eradicated souls. Arianna trembled at the notion of what evil may have sunk it's teeth into the cave. Unanticipatedly, a wailing shriek shattered the brewing air and Arianna tumbled back onto the ground, her curtain of midnight black hair sweeping over her eyes. This prevented what she saw. Her heart roared like it was going to rip out of her breast in a raging frenzy. The wail ceased and was replaced by an eerily hoarse whisper, that echoed around the cave's vibrating mouth. It muttered something dark an inaudible then, without a pause, reformed a ancient poem on the breach of it's tongue:
"O' blood gore temptress beneath the azure sky,
Your willing face calls me,
I would go ever on,
We're it not for you.
You willing arms call me,
For you wish to stab my heart with a inky-black knife..."
Arianna shivered at the brutal words and she turned her face up to witness the speaker. At first her eyes took a moment to adjust to the wall of darkness - but then she saw it. Silver hair that dropped down towards it's floating lower body (which was suffocated in a a lily-white dress). It's face was thin, the edges sharp, framed with slanted green eyes - which glistened with swirling colours of a rainbow that had yet to be discovered. It's nose was thin and it's lips were pursed like rosebuds and red as ripe holly berries. Gasping, the air struggling within her lungs, Arianna shuffled further into the shadows. Regretting having not fled, Arianna scrambled for the rocky path leading out of the cave. An ice bone grip clasped her ankle, the bones cracking under the ferocity. Arianna screamed, a thin tear coursed down her cheek, leaving a glistening scar. "Leave off me you foul omen! You cursed spirit! You bewitched thing!" Arianna moaned, twisted around and dug her nails into the things arm. It's huge eyes flicked down, watching the blood pour like veins down it's white skin. Viciously it whipped back into the depths of it's hollow. Arianna lay shuddering on the cold floor, water oozing out of her eyes. She sat up to retrieve her way out to find her self not in a cave at all - but on the beach, with the silver grains of sand...
