Snowflakes dance, They twirl and twist, Surrounding me in ice cold mist. They catch my tongue And cling to my hair, Teasing, calling, wanting me there.
Icy wind, like the devil's breath, Darkening skies, no sun to be seen. Birds fly South to avert their death, The midnight frost reflects the starlight's gleam.
I spent my days In a summer haze No looking forward No looking back But like all things It ended Quick enough.
I stand upon the edge of knowing, The possibilities vast and wide. Outside it still is softly snowing, Hillsides draped in gauzy white. Another year is fast receding Into winter's frozen time.

I hate mince pies they are yuck, Even the smell of them makes me want to chuck, Give me a homemade jam tart any day, You won't find mince pies at mine on Christmas Day.
