Okay, so I've been waiting a couple weeks to post this poem. I wanted to post it tomorrow for the advent challenge but this is my 500th opuss so I thought, why not use this one. So here it is :) ...
#adventchallenge. New Years resolutions. Sorry not for me. Must have tried them all. They wasn't meant to be. Gave up smoking for a while. Even tried to give up drink. But after the first half hour.
chapped lips. knees locked. awkward stance. timer slowly ticking down. 10. 9. 8. her eyes never so big. she's sweating. nervous. time slows down. surroundings pushed back. she's pulled in.
New Year's close Time is ticking My thoughts are scrambled My fingers; they're clicking. Where is my hope. I only see fear Will the time to come Be a better year.
There's a party. People are drinking. People are dancing. Nobody is leaving. The countdown begins. Ten seconds till midnight. My cue to leave. Yes, you heard me right. I'm always alone.
I'm getting ready for the end of the world, I know it's coming soon. I've got a shelter in my garden to protect me from this doom. I've got water and baked beans, enough to last for years.

Hogmany in Scotland to the non-habitant would appear to be a fun-filled experience. Don't get me wrong it can be great fun but more often than not I’m afraid to say it doesn’t live up to the hype.
It all began on New Year’s Eve. Every year the four of us traditionally spent Hogmany together, that being Luisa and Fletch, our best mates, Jason and me.
Innocent love, you and I, impossible, and yet we tried. Our time it spanned one, just like this, A year, for us to laugh and kiss.
