Lilly jumped from the old cliche looking barn, not wanting to spend one more second anywhere near it. Her muscles felt sore, her bones felt snapped in two, and her mind felt blank.
Lilly screamed, for in that instant she though she was blind being brought back to reality in complete darkness. But it all came back to her like a powerful wave destroying a beach.
Lilly's eyes flew open, and in a second she felt that something was definitely unmistakably wrong. Her father was no longer among her presence in the front seat.
She watched out the window, her long black hair tied up in a loose messy bun on the top of her head. Sleep evaded her as the hours passed. Her dad's old red pickup truck bounced along the dirt rode.
"Mommy, there's a monster under my bed!," whined Bobby. "Jeez," thought Carol, "he's at it again!" Wearily, she staggered to her feet and mounted the flight of stairs to her son's bedroom.
