Chapter 2 My head hits the the truck window and I open my eyes. I rub the painful area with my hand.
Chapter 1 I wake up feeling something cold and smooth beneath me. I groggily sit up and look around. There's large walls made from smooth stone infected by roots.
The chaos around us has no limits. Men and women run in all directions, sheer panic etched across their face.
Its eyes shined from the gloom; twinkling orbs of malice. They sat frozen in place, focused on the boy. Sonny was soaked in sweat. He had no idea what to do, no plan of escape.
The sweat. There was so much of it. Pouring down the faces of many children. Myself included. Slap slap slap, our shoes hit the cold, wet pavement.
"Maria. Take the wheels while I open the hatch. We need to get him in here!", Rose yelled. Maria threw herself into the piloting chair and grabbed a hold of the stick.
He readied himself. This was it. Now or never. He stared into the abyss and took deep breaths. He could do this. Sonny climbed into the small hole without ever looking back.
For miles I walked that day, I walked and walked, not even stopping to take in my surroundings. The sky was grey, the air, filled with a wiff of despair.

I really like the character in 'The Chase' and my head is buzzing with ideas of where his story will go so I hope you will join me :) ________ I curl up against the pebble dashed wall and sob.
Branches flew towards my face as I rushed through the bushes, causing numerous scratches to appear on my face. I didn't feel any pain though. I had too much to do, too much to think about.
