As I walked up the stairs I heard a scraping sound. I stopped dead in my tracks my heart starts to pound. I knew there was nobody else in the house. It should be completely quiet as a mouse.
The next morning I woke up late, I looked at the clock 11:30.
A frightening scream shot into the air like a firework. Sky. The scream came from my room.
Adam was still inside. I looked behind me. Max and Josie were sitting on the swings staring at the house. I dialed 911. "hello?" a lady's voice answered.
I opened the door and it was dark. They must've turned off all the lights. The curtains were dark so I couldn't much even with the evening sun out.

The flames were eating up the carpet and climbing up the walls. It had started in the corner behind us, now it was spreading. We quickly ran out of the room and to the back door, it was locked.
The child lay awake, oblivious to what was going on downstairs. Something papery gently brushed against her foot, making it twitch. She sat bolt up in bed and turned the light on.
The sky darkens with its own pain. The clouds burst with their own tears as mine fall to join theirs. Lightning strike out in rage. Thunder bellows out in pain.
By the time we got to April's house it was 5:55. Perfect timing. No cars in the drive way. Maybe Grace was home alone.
I wandered alone in the forest, clouds chasing me. The skinny trees searching for sun, as did I. The forest was completely starved of light. Clouds hiding it from me.
So there you have it, the story of how I died. I bet it was kind of easier to tell once I introduced Calvin that he would be the one to kill me.
