We took the stairs two at a time, rushing to get out of there. We ran down the corridor at the top and went through the door at the end. The door led into a room that looked familiar to me.

Chapter 5 The streets were empty. Old people walked their dogs. Cars drove by. It was an ordinary Tuesday . I walked beside James. I didn't care much about speaking.
I stared at her. A voice called from outside; "Isadora!" "That'll be my mother. Got to go. See you round?" She asked. "Um... Yeah, okay." I watched as she left through the flap in the tent.
It was a light; simple. A blinding, pulsating ball of light shone straight into my eyes, reflecting a bloody, scarlet beam at the dark cave wall.
A million things are running through my mind at this point. One of the main ones is how the hell does this stranger know my name. I know I'm supposed to answer, but I don't feel obligated to.
Holding my breath, heart pumping at a hundred miles an hour, I board the bus for the first time. Time seems to stop; sudden silence deafens me. All eyes seem to fix on me and I gulp a little...
