Sunset
The sea,
Cradles me to
Melancholy
As the boat rocks
Slowly. The hues of the sun
descending
Gives me comfort
In recalling
Of a love
That's lost.

I saw you standing there. But you didn't notice me. The wind blew your hair. As you dove into the sea. I followed you down. Into the navy deep. I had cast off the crown. Given you a heart to keep.
Shadows
In the shadows I drift,
As wood upon the sea,
Hopelessly bereft,
Of who I should be. A shell of myself,
A ghost of times past,
I'm that wood still drifting
On a sea so vast.
