OMG. This was the hardest challenge I've ever had to judge, the entries were all phenomenal. I was gripped by every single one of them... Well done. So on with the nitty gritty.....
Thanks for the entries. Some interesting pieces but there was two that really did what it said on the tin.
Sorry the results are a little late everyone. In third place is @MrAlex with the excellent 'Wild Holiday' In second the piece 'Winter and Summer' by @eddie12309 - great stuff.
Ahh, what a fine and tasty set this was. A very good job by all. Third place, a tie between @MelchiorJ13 with Farewell September and @Latrodectus with Like Vintage Wine.

Hey guys, my opuss is FINALLY working!. so here are todays young writers household results. first, every single one of the enterys i recived is amazing, so give yourselves a pat on the back.
Better get this out before its too late. There were a lot of exceptional pieces here, it wasn't easy just creating a short list to select winners from.
Ok everyone, here we go. There were 13 in all really great writes. Heavy on the heart of ice theme so I'm starting out with an honorable mention which took it in a different direction.
Thankfully not many entries, was hysteria too hard.

This is written by James Franco (his talents are apparently endless). Palo Alto offers a snap shot of life as teenager. It's quite gritty and almost uncomfortable to read in places.
