I wrote this one for my class.
Artillery blitzed the enemy all night. Over one million shells it was quite a fright. Us Tommys aimed to blow up their barbed wire. For as a prospect to us it was rather dire.
Just one last kiss before I go. An embrace to say 'goodbye'.
As I hide from the enemy I think why do I fight. Our world is in ruins from 50 years of war, I want to give up but I will let my family and humanity down.
