(This short story is based off of my real experience as a softball pitcher. I plan on posting more of these little short stories about my experiences.
Chapter 2: "Maddy. Maddy!" The interviewers call after me as I make my way to the exit door.
China is topping the medals charts although we beat them in the gym (un heard of!) which is pretty amazing and two of our lads are into the final of the men's artistic gymnastics.
Supported I watched them play as I sat on my wheelchair. My best friend, Dana, was playing one-on-one with Simon, our best guy-friend.
I panted. Hand on my heart, I consumed a small quantity of fresh water. Clearing my throat, I stood in my lane and took my position. This was it.
I soon found out the answer to my question. We were not being kip-napped, we were being trained to race, like I said at the beginning.
My school must hate me. When my friend ran the 5000m, and finished 40 seconds off of the world record, there was a whole assembly congratulating him and an Olympic committee representative came in.
