So she let me stay in her spare room for a while. We sat and talked and I even saw a smile. The plan was to set the thug up proper. Ruin his street cred till he came a cropper.
So there I was, standing in the front of the ally. I could only see the red spot of "fox" cigarette. I walked into the ally. It was to dark to see, so I opened my lighter.
There's a man in a mask, And a woman in a suit. The man has a gun, The woman's kinda cute. There's a big bang, The woman's dead. The man gives me a smile, And then he fled.
The wind seemed remarkably still that evening. All he could hear was the whistle of nightbirds, and the occasional blare of a horn in the distance. Few people were still out at this time of evening.
So I was walking, This lovely, starry night. I was only a block a away from home. Saw a man seeking a fight. He demanded money, I explained I had none, Next thing I know, He pulled out a gun.
Lurking in the shade, Waiting in the dark. Watching every footstep, Creeping through the park. Holding something lethal, A gun, possibly a knife. Waiting to make a move, To rob you of your life.
My neighbors think I am a nosey old women, but today I witnessed a murder. I was looking out my window when I saw something through the window of my apartment building opposite mine.
*16+ etc, etc. The city is thriving today, bright and curious eyes, lovers holding hands, sharing jokes, melodic laughter... Today, their voices work to depress me even more than usual.
