"Sally Jones?" a tall military man said as Sam's mother entered the room. "Yes, I'm sorry I'm late I was held up in traffic..." "Okay here is the expedition team." the man said cutting her off in mid sentence. "As I said," the man turned to the rest of the expedition, "this is Sally Jones. She is an archeologist. Specialises in ancient technology but is very interested in modern technology too, obviously." He turned back to Sally then continued and went through the names and jobs of man other people on the expedition. "Cameron, Ryan, Ed and Jake are all here to protect you, as am I. Kevin," he directed Sally to him," is our communications and technology leader." Sally shook the young mans hand. " Karl, our expedition leader, he is a previous police detective and will be an expert in actually gathering evidence." they shook hands. "and last but not least," she looked up at the man in front if her, "Jamie,an archeologist like you." her X.

They were informed of what they were actually searching for which most of them had their own ideas about. Of course the light was what they were after but she couldn't think of anything other than Jamie. 'How could he be here?' She thought over and over again. 'Why? How?' She was frustrated. He had come to steal her glory yet again. 'Anyway' , she thought, 'I won't dwell on it. I'll just prove him wrong. I'll beat him.' There wasn't much to beat him in but she would beat him no matter what.

It was manic. Supplies were being ferried and they now stood in a large hanger waiting for their mode of transport. "Of course," the un-named military man had said, "it will run out of fuel quickly if you don't use it wisely. Only very few power stations are up and running during this 'permanent night'." Sally had also been quite conscious of all the military forces that were coming. She approached Karl, the leader. "Do we need..." she stammered as she realised that Jamie was asking the same thing. "You first." he said She stammered again, "do we need all these armed men? I don't feel comfortable around them." "Yes," Jamie started,"I feel that it's not appropriate. We don't need them here." "I'm afraid the the PM has made it compulsory." The bearded man replied. As he said this the hanger rumbled and a large silver hover craft landed. It was about to begin.
