This is something I did for English a few months ago after reading A Midsummer Night's Dream. #ShakespeareInspired
It's so unfair. I should be able to marry who I want. It's my choice, not anyone else's. Father found out about Lysander and me. He found one of the letters Lysander sent me that I'd carelessly left lying around. To say he was angry is an understatement. I had never seen him so mad.
Once he had calmed down a bit, he marched me to court. I can't believe he humiliated me in front of Theseus and Hippolyta. Father still wants me to marry Demetrius, even though I despise him. He isn't even considering what I want, because, as usual, he is only thinking of himself. I know he only wants me to marry Demetrius because it results in more money for him.
Theseus says if I don't obey Father I'll be sent to a nunnery, or even put to death. I don't care. I'd rather die than marry Demetrius and betray Lysander. Then everyone left the room left, leaving Lysander and me alone. He proposed we run away to live with his widowed aunt, and get married. I agreed immediately. It's a genius idea! If we get caught, it is certain that we will be killed. However, it's a risk I will have to take, because I can't bear to be without Lysander for any longer. Helena came in then, and we told her about our plan. I couldn't keep a secret like this from her. I know she won't tell. I trust her completely.
We are meeting in the woods tomorrow night. I can't wait.
