CHAPTER 2 At the end of our date, Max dropped me off at my house and said "Hope you liked tonight?" I nodded and closed my front door behind me. I could faintly hear his car driving off into the distance.
The next morning I woke up and realized I didn't have work today! I got dressed and went down stairs to make breakfast, when someone knocked at the door. I went to answer "Hel…" no one was there. I looked down and saw a parcel wrapped in brown paper. I picked it up and took it inside. I sat on a chair in the kitchen and began to unfold the paper. It was a dress. I picked it up and it fell straight to the floor. It was a dark purple with a fancy waist line full of beads. A piece of paper floated out of the dress it said "I saw this in the shop and it made me think of you! Would you care to join me at a party in this dress, Wednesday? Love Max xx" I could imagine the party and me in my dress. Max would swirl me around, gracefully and elegantly. Everyone would stare in amazement! I truly loved him and he loved me! I then dialed but had to leave a message as he wasn't there. I made my breakfast and I soon after decided to go shopping to get some new make up and shoes. I locked the front door, got into my car and drove off towards town.
When I got there I parked the car and suddenly heard a familiar voice saying "Hey look who it is, Corrine!" I turned round and it turned out to be my old mate Vicky. She was already running towards me. When she reached me I threw my arms around her. She did too. "I haven't seen you in years!" she cried "Oh my god! I can't believe it's really you!" I exclaimed hugging her tighter
"So what's been happening then?" she asked, as we finally stopped hugging
"Well er, I've now got boyfriend." I said blushing, Vicky's mouth dropped open in amazement.
"Right you better not be busy," she said "I'll buy you a coffee and then we can chat about the lucky man." Vicky took me to a small cafe called 'Coco Bean'. She bought me a coffee, just like she said and I explained to her everything about Max. When I had finished she said what a lucky girl I was but then she said she had to leave quickly to pick up a birthday cake for someone. So she did and I was left alone at the cafe. I did my shopping and then drove home.
When I got back, I immediately got a phone call "Hello?" I asked
"Hi, it's me, Max?" he said from the other side of the phone
"Oh hi," I said back "I take it you got my message. I absolutely love the dress, thank you so much!"
"Hehe your welcome." he laughed
"So where's the party and who's it for?" I said, curiously
"I can't say," he said which was a bit strange "How about I say what I said on the first date 'I'll do the rest'?" I smiled even though he couldn't see me. "Yes ok, what time should we meet?"
"I'll pick you up at 6:45, is that ok?" I agreed and we ended the conversation. Wednesday came quickly and I soon found myself rushing round the house trying to find things I had lost. I then tried to remember something that was happening today, but my thoughts were interrupted by a knock at the door. It was Max. He pulled from behind his back a bunch of roses! My faveourite!
