CHAPTER 14 "I'm so sorry." Max said for the third time "No I'm sorry I was really harsh." He opened his arms for a hug. I ran to him and threw my arms around him. The smell of him reminded me of all we had been through. Ups and downs. I let go and smiled at him. He smiled back and then kissed me gently on the lips. "Why did you leave?" I asked. He looked away. "What someone had to bring it up."
"Na I just couldn't stand what I had done to you and the way you reacted put me in more guilt." he looked at me and pulled me in close. I wrapped my arms around him and never wanted to let go again. Tears came down my face and fell onto his jumper. Max made calming noises and I felt as if I was going to fall asleep there and then in his arms. I heard a car park outside the woods. I took Max's hand and led him to the car "Can Max come?" I asked already getting in the car. Dad looked reluctant but mum nodded. Vicky got in the back with us and we drove back to Vicky's place. When we arrived my parents only stayed for a cup of tea and they then soon left. We decided to watch a movie, 'Pirates of the Caribbean the curse of the black pearl' I had always had a crush on Captain Jack Sparrow but now my own captain was back and I cuddled up closer to him. I must have fallen asleep. Again? As when I awoke I was wrapped in a blanket on the sofa. Max and Vicky were no where in sight. I could then hear Vicky's voice "Haven't you just lost your house though?" Max then mumbled something and Vicky gasped "How did you? When did you? Does Corrine know?" Vicky said "Well let's go see if she's awake." I quickly shut my eyes to pretend that I was sleeping. "Rinny wake up." Max stroked some hair out of my face. I opened my eyes one by one and yawned. "Max has got something to tell you." Vicky said looking at Max. "I've got the house back." He said, I couldn't speak. He whispered something in Vicky's ear and then helped me up as my legs had gone to sleep. "I can't believe you got the house back!" I said on the way home "I mean how did you?" He gestured a lock and throw away the key "Secret." he kissed me on the head as we parked on the drive. I smiled and we both went inside. As I walked into the kitchen, I heard a kind of yelping noise. Max said he didn't hear anything. I sighed and thought nothing of it. But I then heard it again. And again. I walked into the living room which is where I thought the noise was coming from. Nothing was in there apart from Max watching the telly. I walked slowly into the utility room and there inside a cardboard box, in the corner of the room was a small black Labrador puppy. "Awwww," I said letting it sniff my hand "Your so cute." "Do you like her?" Max asked standing in the door way "She's yours!" I turned round and smiled. "Is this out of guilt?" I asked "No." he replied crouching down next to me and kissing my on the cheek, which made me fall over. "Wow your unstable." Max teased and I pulled him towards me until we lay side by side. I then felt this licking in my arm. It was the dog. "What should we call her?" Max said "I like Jess." I said. Max nodded and reached in till our lips met each others. He pulled away as the Jess was in top of him "Hey," I said "I'm not done kissing you." Max laughed and we kissed. Life with Max was perfect, even with what he did.
