I know the signs Are coming fast The ones that tell me This won't last
We've had some good times And some pain But something's changed And we're not the same
But in your arms Just for tonight Can we pretend That it's alright?
Perhaps at the Breaking of the day With fractured hearts We'll walk away
Tell each other 'You'll be fine" And that we'll meet Another time
But while we still Burn with the fire Instead of down Can we go higher? Let the dying embers Pull us through For one more night- Just me and you
All too soon Events will pass Be back on track My 'half full glass'
And in another year I won't recall Or perhaps remember You at all
So though we're clear The end's in sight That's for tomorrow Not tonight...
