As a self confessed arachnophobic, the wise man took an intruding spider from his window sill and, with his eyes sharply focused on it, slowly took it outside and gently placed it on a leaf branching from a tree. Stunned and confused, a disciple asked "if you are scared of spiders, why didn't you kill it at first sight?", to which the wise man replied "if I had killed the spider, I wouldn't be scared of it".
