7. Heaven

I screamed. The fall came so unexpected, it took me a second to realize what was happening. I was falling fast, tumbling toward the ground in breakneck speed. Faster than I should - although, I had never really been pushed over the edge of a balcony before. I was falling through thick, black mist. Inhaling it was like drowning.

I gritted my teeth and prepared to be smashed down on the concrete. There was no time to think; it was only a matter of seconds now.

But the smash never came. I continued falling. I should have already been splattered onto the sidewalk - my life should have ended. Instead, I seemed to be slowly down. The black mist thickened, and before I knew it, I came to a stop.

Everything was black. I couldn't see anything, and my skin felt moist. Like I was in a tropical rain forest, without the heat. My heart was still racing when I attempted to stand up. I was in shock. My mind didn't work. I couldn't think or feel. I wasn't scared. Just lost.

In the distance, I saw a light flare up and go out a second later. This happened a few times. Blinded by shock, I stumbled toward it. Tried to make out the direction. I still had to cognitive skills - my legs, weak like jello, my whole body aching and my head pounding loud enough to deafen me, moved. I tried to scream out, but u couldn't. My lips didn't respond. A silent grunt was the only sound I was capable of making.

"Tyler is dead"

The voice spoke from everywhere.

"Tyler.." I mumbled The light flared up once more only a few feet away from me. It's red light illuminated the person holding it: myself.

My eyes closed. I was paralyzed. Unable to keep moving, to understand. I crumbled together and fell through the floor. Life ended. Time stopped. I disappeared. I was falling into an endless state of darkness. The light at the end of the tunnel, you know the one everybody talks about, appeared in the distance, getting closer.

But something interrupted me. Something was tugging at my arm. I tried to shake it off, but I couldn't. The light sped toward me. It was about to hit me. I was going to heaven.

"Mr. Trent?... Mr. Trent, are you alright?"
