Last week I finished this book and I must say It was very heartfelt and moving.
It's the story of how a mother, Kate Greene was diagnosed with cancer and decided to write a list with the help of her husband. The list includes things she loved to do and would love their 2 sons to do as well, her future plans for the whole family and her advice to her family on how to cope with the grief after she has passed. It was like she knew her time was going to be up and she wanted to make sure she left something behind so that her husband and sons would always have something to hold on to in her memory.
It's simply a very beautiful book about the love we find and the love we eventually lose. The difference is how much time we have in between. It makes you try to see life in a more optimistic way. That life is meant to be enjoyed with your loved ones and always trying to create new memories. One of the ways how the family spent together is by going on countless trips either to the beach, park or caravanning.
Life is more meaningful when you try to make the best out of it. And it did make me think about my current life situation. I can be much happier if I stop worrying about the 'what ifs' or dreading the consequences when there's nothing left for me to do. I guess we try a little bit everyday to be better for ourselves and the people around us. To ensure that our memories live on and even if it doesn't we had a good life where we saw the beauty and hope in everyday life.
I hope you make your life worthwhile too :)
