They met They fell in love They dated for some time They tied the knot
They had kids Their source of joy And took them on trips To play in the sun, the girl and boy
As they grew old together The unexpected occurred As he cared less about life So did his love for his wife
People grow more in love with time But not them They struggled through Feeling like life was such a scam
He started abusing her Not physically But verbally She couldn't take it and cried uncontrollably
Day after day She told him jokes and tales In hope maybe someday he'd listen to her But he never did bother
He'd grunt or nod But never say a word Sometimes he'd shout or stay silent And that was all she was given
The kids watched their mother As she became sadder everyday They went to comfort her But all she said 'don't worry my darlings, I am okay'
They knew she was lying The problem they gave a try at fixing He refused to cooperate And left them even more desperate
Life is a funny thing you see The love we seek Can be a thing of bleak And it could happen anytime to you or me
Once a love is lost It might never come back...
