Gloria had recently discovered those vacuum-seal bags that allowed for the off-season storage of bulky items such as blankets and sweaters. She had become a big fan of the bags as they compressed the items by removing air from them, allowing for the storage of bulky items in a smaller space than would otherwise be possible.--"Who couldn't use more closet and storage space?," thought Gloria.--What a great convenience these bags were!
Having compressed and stored a number of blankets and sweaters through the use of such bags, Gloria prepared to deploy a triple-extra-large vacuum-seal storage bag that she had recently picked up. She had a bit of trouble squeezing her item into the bag despite its larger size, but eventually got the plastic zipper closed, snapped a vacuum hose onto the bag's circular port, and flipped on her canister vacuum cleaner. The powerful machine hummed away, compressing the bag and its item, and within a few minutes, the pitch of the vacuum's hum changed, indicating that the job had been completed. Gloria quickly detached the vacuum cleaner hose from the bag port, sealed the opening with a rubber gasket, and examined the fruit of her labors.
Just as with all of her other items, this one had been compressed and was tightly sealed within clear heavy plastic. Gloria stroked her Mother's cheek through the thick plastic, noting that the frozen face bore a rather startled expression. The dear old soul would fit nicely on the closet floor now, and rest quietly there now that Mother's Day had come and gone. Gloria wanted to be free to enjoy her summer, and elderly parents could be such a bother sometimes. When Father's Day was over in a few weeks, Gloria had another oversized vacuum storage bag awaiting her Dad. Putting them in nursing homes would have been so frightfully expensive, and this was ultimately much less stressful to them, don't you think?
The months would pass by unnoticed for her parents while in vacuum storage, and then Gloria planned on taking them out in the late fall around Thanksgiving, just in time for the holidays! They really added something to the house sitting around at that time of year, but could simply remain in vacuum-sealed storage if Gloria decided to go to Florida for the winter.
Gloria planned on picking up an additional triple extra-large vacuum-sealed storage bag for her younger brother, who had never really decided what he wanted to do with his life...
