Little Ralphie Werewolf was facing his annual quandary of what to get his mother, Wanda Werewolf, for Mother's Day. Drawings for the refrigerator didn't quite cut it anymore, and the wretched gifts like pencil holders made in school were woefully inadequate. Money doesn't come easily to kids, and Ralphie knew that he couldn't buy his mother anything worthwhile. Finally Ralphie remembered something that his Momma had said about the best gifts being those which you made yourself, so he decided to go hunting for inspiration for the perfect gift all by himself!

Although he was but a wee werewolf, Ralphie possessed the great strength of his kind, and was able to overcome prey several times his size. Yes, he was sure that he had found the perfect gift for his mother! He eagerly returned home with his special gift, placed it in a box, and wrapped it in brightly-colored paper. Ralphie could hardly wait for Mother's Day to arrive, and nearly blurted out before his Momma what he had found for her.

Though days passed like months, Mother's Day finally came, and Ralphie proudly presented his mother with his gift of gifts. "Open it, Momma, open it, hurry, please!," he pleaded.

Wanda Werewolf carefully removed the wrapping paper, much too slowly for Ralphie's taste. She gently lifted the lid off of the small box, and fished inside through tissue paper to remove the box's contents. Wanda pulled from the box a perfectly-manicured severed human female finger, the nail painted a dark burgundy and the digit still wearing a jeweled ring. Wanda ripped the ring from the finger and was pleased to find that it fit perfectly on one of hers. She held her paw aloft, the gemstone flashing and glinting in the light to the oohs and ahhs of the whole family.

"Ralphie, you always knew that I liked ladyfinger sandwiches!," enthused Wanda as she hugged her little Ralphie. Wanda then delicately chewed the flesh off the finger, relishing the tasty morsels. Spitting the fingernail out, Wanda crunched the finger bones to extract the marrow, wrinkling her muzzle with pleasure as she did so.

Ralphie Werewolf beamed with pleasure that he had indeed found the perfect gift for Mother's Day, and worried only slightly about whether he would be able to match much less best his performance the following year. There was indeed no greater burden than having a high potential...
