Chapter 3~ Edward Masen and Esme Evenson (Continued)

I unwillingly squinted at Edward, his face was twisted with pain, the rest of him writhing in agony. This was what it was like for anyone being turned into an immortal, excruciating pain as the venom slowly floods through your body. "It's ok, Edward, everything will be fine," I whispered, although it felt like rocks had been dropped to the bottom of my stomach. "IT...BURNS!" Edward screamed. "I know, I know..." I sighed. "KILL ME!" Edward continued to scream. I patted his arm and thought fast. I found a piece of paper and a pen and started to scribble a note: I have taken Edward to another ward. Please be patient, I will explain everything later. Carlisle. I put the note at the end of the bed and opened the window. "The pain will stop soon Edward," I muttered, scooping Edward up into my arms. I leaped out the window, and sprinted back to my house as fast as I could. In just over a minute, I could see my house, it's polished, glass windows reflecting the silvery moonlight. As soon as I was inside the house, I gently laid Edward on a spare bed. No one had ever used this, I live on my own and no one visits me. I knew this pain Edward felt would last for days, two at the very least, it was hard to even think about. "Edward, I'm going to explain everything when you've changed," I said quietly, but loud enough for him to hear. Many emotions flicked across Edward's face until he finally settled on a 'Ok, I'll ask questions later' expression. The expression on his face soon faded back to an agonised mask of pain. "Edward, I have to go back to the hospital...don't move from there please, the pain will go away soon," I said quietly. Edward inclined his head slightly, and I nodded and leaped back out the window. I sprinted through the darkness, eager to get back to the hospital. I wanted to watch Esme, she'd looked so ill earlier, almost like Edward...That thought made me gasp, what if it was too late. In no time, I had reached the hospital and I climbed through the open window again. The door was wide open and I guessed that someone had been in here. I sat in a chair beside the bed and thought, my temples throbbing. I needed to change Esme. Now. I didn't want to leave it until last minute like I did with Edward, I might not make it in time. I jumped up, despite my throbbing head, and walked quickly through the corridor until I reached Esme's room. "Esme, I need to do something. It will hurt, but will be worth it in the end," I told Esme as soon as I bolted the door. "Anything..." Esme smiled weakly. I took a deep breath and let my teeth sink into Esme's wrist. She screamed and her eyes immediately filled with tears. I pulled away and clapped my hand over my mouth again, to prevent me from continuing. "MAKE IT STOP....PLEASE!" Esme begged. I shook my head and opened her window. I carefully picked Esme up and leaped gracefully out the open window and ran as fast as I could back to Edward. The truth sank in to me, I had created two newborns...
