I was completely lost in my dream, My gold Olympic medal began to gleam, The crowds all cheered and clapped for me, My heart was filled with never-ending glee!
I was now a world-champion swimmer, My new, gold medal continued to glimmer, I stood up tall, my head held high, The sun shone bright, in the cloudless blue sky!
Suddenly I woke up with a fright, I was sure it was deep into the night, I heard an alarm ring loud and clear, It really hurt my sensitive ear.
It sounded like my house alarm, A terrified tingle from my foot to my arm, It might have been a burglar, A kidnapper, a murderer!
The next thing came as quite a shock, The sound has just been my alarm clock!!
