Chapter 4
Suspicions
"Ow..." I groaned as I woke up in the morning.
Somehow, I had managed to bump my head on my bed post, this kind of stuff always happened to me. Well, on the bright side at least my headache had gone that I'd had last night (not that it would make any difference, my head was throbbing anyway). I gasped, I was actually excited about school today, though I had no idea what I was excited about. Seeing my friends, no...lessons, definitely not! Seeing Leon, err....kind of, maybe...yes.
"Scarlett! Wake up!" my mum shouted from downstairs.
"Yes, yes, yes..." I answered, yawning.
Today, I chose to wear a floral playsuit and black leggings, not that I was trying to impress anyone or anything...
"Hey mum," I yawned as I ate some toast.
"Hi sweetie, you look lovely today," my mum replied.
"Thanks. I'm just trying to impre- I mean...uh...find something summery!" I lied, blushing.
My mum raised her eyebrow at me, she knew what I was going to say.
"Who is it?" she questioned.
"It's-ooh, look at the time, gotta hurry! Cya!" I saved myself from my mum's questions.
I actually meant it, I wasn't running late, I just wanted to get to school early and talk with my friends. I froze as I was rushing up the stairs. I'd gone mad. I wanted to get to school to see Leon, I dressed nicely for him, and I didn't want to get to school early to see my friends, I wanted to see him. Oh dear...I liked him more than I should. I tried not to think about it as I walked to school, it was hard.
"Hey," Amber greeted me as I absently walked over to the corner of the field.
"What? Oh, hi," I was lost in thought, I'd forgotten what was happening.
Amber frowned, and scratched her forehead, I had to laugh, it looked so comical. She laughed with me, though my attention was now on someone else. Leon had walked through the gates, throwing a football around with his friend. He was beaming and kept looking at me, almost as if he was excited. Actually, he looked very excited. Amber looked between us, she raised her eyebrow again and giggled.
"Who likes Leon?" she chanted.
"Not me!" I lied.
"Sure!" Paige laughed sarcastically, I hadn't noticed she'd been there the whole time. Wow, my brain was somewhere else.
I was like an open book, everyone could read me so easily. My mum, my friends, it was so annoying.
"Scarlett!" Leon greeted me at lunch.
"Hi," I replied.
He looked thrilled that I'd just answered him like that, he decided to carry on while he was doing well.
"So, what you doing tonight?" he continued eagerly.
"Nothing," I answered.
"What to come and meet me and my friends at the park. Bring Paige, Lily and Amber if you want," Leon suggested.
I considered this for a while, all my friends nodded at me and smiled.
"Ok! What time?" I laughed.
"Hmm...4:00!" Leon decided, he looked like a little kid who had just found out that Christmas would be early this year. In others words, very excited.
"You like him!" all my friends laughed when Leon had gone.
Of course he still heard this and practically jumped up in the air with joy. I could've sworn I heard him shout 'same' over his shoulder. I blushed and covered my face with my hands. So embarrassing. Now I just had to wait until tonight...
