Chapter 12
Dinner
"It's this one," Leon told me, pointing to a fancy looking restaurant.
Luckily, I'd taken an extra £10 from my purse, it looked like I'd need it. The lady waiting at the doors smiled at us as we walked in.
"And how many will be eating tonight?" the lady asked us politely.
I couldn't help but smile, obviously two of us would be eating tonight as there are two of us here. Apparently, Leon thought she same.
"One, two," Leon smirked, pointing to me as he said one and himself as two.
The lady nodded and showed us to a table at the back of the restaurant. I thanked her and she left, while we decided what to eat. The table was decorated beautifully; with a white table cloth, a lit candle, some flowers, two menus, salt, pepper, cutlery and fake petals scattered along the middle.
"So, what would you like to drink?" Leon asked me.
"Hmm...just orange juice I think," I decided.
"How exotic!" Leon scoffed, grinning.
"What are you having then, Captain Exotic?" I asked, raising my eyebrows.
Leon scanned across the menu, before looking up at me.
"This red wine," Leon told me, pointing to the menu.
I laughed at him, it took me a while to recover.
"Your not even allowed that! Your not old enough!" I laughed.
Leon looked bewildered for a minute, but then gave me his usual smirk. I was about to question him, when a waitress came over to our table.
"What would you like to drink?" the waitress asked.
"Just an orange juice please," I told her.
She nodded then looked at Leon.
"Red wine please," Leon said, in a surprisingly sophisticated voice.
The lady smiled and to my utter astonishment, walked away murmuring 'orange juice and red wine' to herself.
"B-but, I-how do you do that!?!" I asked.
"Age doesn't matter when you have looks and acting skills!" Leon smirked.
"Haha(!)" I laughed sarcastically.
Now I looked at Leon carefully, he did look older than what he was. I scowled, making Leon smirk again.
"Jealous, are we?" Leon asked, his eyebrows raised.
"No!" I replied to quickly.
He laughed again and ruffled my hair, completely messing it up.
"You idiot! Look at my hair!" I snapped.
Leon smiled and tried to sort it out, while I sat sulkily, my arms folded. Just then the waitress came over with a tray holding my orange juice and Leon's red wine.
"One orange juice and a red wine," she confirmed, before walking away.
I sipped my orange juice, while Leon smugly took a sip of his drink. I stuck my tongue out at him as he did so. I watched him as he sipped it, but he frowned.
"Hey! Wait! This is cranberry juice!" Leon said, scowling.
This was hilarious. I laughed so hard that I had tears rolling down my cheeks, he had been so smug!
"Hahaha!" I laughed at him.
The waitress came over again.
"I know your not 18, I'm not stupid!" the waitress laughed.
Leon looked shocked and annoyed.
"Anyway, what would you like to eat?" the waitress asked us.
"I will have...cod please," Leon decided.
I tried to stop laughing, but it took at least two minutes for me to fully recover.
"I'll...have...lamb please.." I giggled.
The waitress chuckled and walked away, shaking her head.
"'Age doesn't matter when you have looks and acting skills' HA!" I imitated him.
Leon smiled, and tried changing the subject.
"Lets play 10 questions instead of 20, I'll ask you some first," Leon said.
I nodded and waited for him to think of the first question.
"What's your favourite colour?" Leon asked.
"Err...red I guess...." I replied, though luckily he'd started with an easy one.
"Ok. What would you like to be when your older?"
"Hmm...maybe a journalist," I said.
"What is your favourite lesson?"
"Ugh, hard one...though probably English..."
"What's your favourite song?"
"Don't know!"
The questions went on and there was way more than twenty, they lasted us all through dinner and through desert as well. After refusing to let me pay for my own meal, Leon payed for us and we walked out the door.
"I'll walk you back to your house," Leon told me.
I nodded and we walked slowly back to my house, we didn't talk much, we just listened to the rustle of the bushes.
When we reached my house I turned to say goodbye.
"Thank you for taking me for dinner tonight. And I'll see you tomorrow, bye," I said.
"Bye," Leon muttered.
To my surprise, Leon bent down and kissed me on my head before walking off, looking very pleased with himself. I put my hand to the place where he'd kissed me, shook my head and hurried into my house. That had been an interesting night...
