Chapter 13
Couple
"Hi mum! I'm tired, I'm going to bed now! Love you!" I practically sang, as I skipped into the house.
"Ok...night, love you to," my mum replied, a little surprised.
I felt so cheerful as I bounded into my room and went straight to my laptop. I was grateful when I saw that Lily was online and I could talk to her.
'Hi Lils' I typed, my fingers jumping from key to key.
'Hey, have fun?' Lily replied, sending the little smiley face icon.
'I can't believe this, but yes!' I typed quickly.
"Ahh, I always knew this would happen' I could almost see her smug face now.
'Sure' I put.
'Gotta go, tell me the whole story tomorrow, bye' Lily sent.
"Cya' I typed and shut my laptop.
Thinking about it, I was pretty tired so I got ready for bed and hid under my duvet. My brain was arguing inside my head. I like him. I don't. I like him. I don't. You do! No!!
"Shut up me..." I muttered.
I groaned. I was going crazy, talking to my own brain, out loud. After an hour of thinking about Leon, I drifted off to sleep, and dreamt about Leon taking me to the beach. He threw me into the sea, and I plunged into the icy cold water. We both laughed as I ran towards him, wanting revenge...
The next morning I woke, a new feeling inside me. Not the usual depression of having to go to school, but excitement and anticipation.
"Scarlett! Scarlett!" I heard someone shout. Paige.
I gritted my teeth and turned around, she was going to ruin my day.
"Paige," I replied, annoyed.
"I'm sorry about the email," she said flicking her hair behind her back, and chewing gum noisily.
I could tell she didn't mean it.
"Tell me when you mean it," I sighed and walked away.
Some people were so rude, it wasn't much of an apology when she was chewing gum, obviously not caring at all.
"Scarlett!" I heard Paige complain.
"That's my name, don't wear it out!" I called, half amused, half irritated.
Around two minutes later, I saw Lily in the corner of thee field, tying her shoelace. I hurried over to her, and gave her a summary of what had happened last night. As I told her the ending (the kiss) she looked at me as if she was proud of her daughter. Me. I laughed at the expression on her face, and playfully hit her arm.
"Scarlett! Scarlett!" It was a different voice this time.
This voice sounded hopeful. Leon. I turned round and smiled at his beaming face. As fast as light, he picked me up and swung me round as if I was a toddler. I squealed and made him put me down.
"Do I look like a toddler?" I asked.
"Hmmm....no, I guess not!" Leon decided.
"So cute!" I heard Lily whisper.
I subtly smiled at her, making sure that Leon didn't see me. The bell rang, ruining the moment. Leon kissed me on the head again and walked away.
"Bye!" he called over his shoulder.
I waved and turned to Lily.
"Aww! Little Scarlett, all grown up! Your first boyfri-" she began, grinning.
"Do not say the word!" I interrupted, though smiled at her.
"Haha, let's go!" she laughed and we practically skipped to class.
School had suddenly turned...good!
