Our holiday had been great! It was now November and we were packing to go to Germany, again. I hadn't seen Ben much since we got back from Italy. This was probably a good thing as I was keeping a bit of a secret from Ben… We arrived in Italy already having tans from Spain and Greece. We stayed together the whole time- it was a completely different experience to France. There were so many places we wanted to visit so we hired a camper van to stay in, instead of a hotel. On our last night we went to have a romantic meal near the Fiume Sarmento. It was a lovely meal! Ben told me he had a surprise so I waited patiently in the restaurant while he ran out to the camper van. He came back with a bunch of beautiful roses. I couldn't help grinning at them! They were stunning! He then told me we were going in a boat. We travelled in a gondola down the small stream. It was so beautiful and romantic! "Look!" I turned my head to see what Ben was pointing at. There was a shooting star right above us! " Make a wish!" He whispered.
Ben's point of view
I'd been waiting for ages for the perfect moment and now it was here.
Alice's point of view
I wished to always feel as happy as I did then. I grinned as I opened my eyes- my wish was a little cheesy! Ben was sitting in front of me looking dead serious, though. "What's wro-" My eyes flickered down to the little box in his hand. He'd asked this before but it hadn't been the right time. Now seemed perfect. "Alice, you are so special! I love you, and I always will! I want to be with you forever! So Alice, my darling, will you marry me?" I was speechless! It shouldn't have been a shock but it was! All I could do was nod! He grinned from ear to ear as he slipped on the beautiful ring. We flung our arms around each other and stayed like that for ages!
