The next day we avoided each other. That was until lunch time. I needed to show Ben how sorry I was so I waited for him in the hotel room with a speech prepared. As soon as he walked in I started it.
"Ben please just listen to me!"
"Alice, it's no use!"
"Look, I know I made a mistake and your mad at me!"
"I'm going home, thats how angry I am! You've ruined this… for both of us!"
"I know and I want make it up to you! Please!"
"How?"
"We are staying in France for another four days, okay?"
"Yeah?"
"Well, give me until we get to the airport in four days to make it up to you!"
"Fine! But what if I decide to go home?"
"What about it?"
"Will I get tickets?"
"Probably!"
So I set about trying to make it up to him. That night he got the bed. In the morning I grabbed a heap of stuff from the breakfast buffet and took it back to our room. I put it on a tray to make it look nice before carrying it through to him.
"You do realise that all this pampering isn't going to make me forgive you!" He groaned as I walked in with breakfast.
"But it's a start!"
"Alice, I've already made my mind up!"
"What have you decided?"
" Germany."
"That's our next stop?"
"Yeah, there's some nice houses there!"
"Houses?"
"Yeah, so unless you do something spectacular I'm moving to Germany!"
"I still have three days, right?" I asked faint heartedly. Ben nodded. Neither of us were convinced… Ben was going to move to Germany!
